Bloomfield College is the only New Jersey institution to be recognized as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and Hispanic Serving Institution, and is also a Minority serving Institution.

More than half of our students identify themselves as first-generation and are the first in their families to enroll in college.

Bloomfield College was ranked highest in New Jersey in social mobility in the U.S. News & World Report 2021 Best College’s Top National Liberal Arts Colleges category.

The College has also held the highest success rate among all New Jersey liberal arts colleges and universities in moving students forward in economic standing, according to a study by the Equality of Opportunity Project published in The New York Times. We’ve been cited among the nation’s top colleges for helping students from low-income families enter the middle and upper class, according to an American Council on Education and University Business Report

The College proudly offers the lowest full-time tuition rate for any private four-year college or university in New Jersey. Many students attend our small private college for the same or below the direct cost of a public institution, as 94.5% of our students receive a grant or scholarship.

We are also committed to cost transparency, having eliminated comprehensive and course fees. That means families know the cost of attendance upfront, with no hidden expenses.

Game Design

Our highly respected Frances M. McLaughlin Division of Nursing boasts a 94 percent licensure exam pass rate. The program has been ranked as the No. 2 Bachelor of Science in Nursing in New Jersey.

Our Game Design program has been ranked first in the state by The Princeton Review in its 2019 rankings.

Overall, our students graduate at a significantly greater rate than what is predicted based on their SAT scores and high school GPAs.

Located in historic Bloomfield, New Jersey, just 15 miles from New York City, a cultural epicenter for entertainment, business, and internship and career opportunities, Bloomfield College has created a comprehensive campus experience.

Campus life features more than 40 clubs, organizations, and an active Greek Life. Bloomfield College also participates in 12 Division II athletics programs.

The College launched an exciting Esports program in 2019. The roster is competitively available to all interested students, and the College is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), the governing body for Esports.

Bloomfield College students also have the cutting edge of innovation within creative arts and technology at their fingertips thanks to our new Center for Technology + Creativity. Such advanced training will have you prepared for a shining career.

SAT/ACT optional
Test Optional Admission

Bloomfield College is test-optional, which means you won’t have to submit SAT or ACT scores to be considered*. We’ve found that high school GPA has been a more reliable predictor of student success on campus than standardized test scores alone.

According to the National Center for Fair and Open Testing, institutions that have adopted a test-option-al policy experienced an increase in applicants that are more diverse and demonstrate higher academic quality.
