At Genesee Community College (GCC) you can earn your Associates degree (AS/AAS) in one of 60 plus different programs. 92% of recent graduates are either employed or have transferred to a four-year school to earn bachelor’s, master’s and doctorates in a wide variety of fields.
The degree and academic credits you earn at Genesee Community College transfer to virtually any college or university in the United States. Additionally, because GCC is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, our students can seamlessly transfer to over 30 four-year institutions in New York State to pursue the next level of education.

College Village, Genesee Community College’s residence life community is located just a two-minute stroll from campus. The fully furnished apartment-style suites feature all of today’s must-have amenities, such as wireless Internet access, cable TV, local and long-distance digital telephone service, laundry facilities, and ample parking–all part of the housing fee. With four new residence halls recently constructed and new ‘pod-style’ living renovations, College Village is home to approximately 450 students.
There’s something for everyone at Genesee Community College! Beyond the 60 plus academic programs, Genesee Community College offers nearly 50 student clubs including WGCC, the FM student radio station, The New Courier student newspaper, Forum Players Theater Company, the Billiard Club, the Adventure Club, and many other student organizations. The College’s men’s lacrosse and soccer teams won the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships in 2016 and 2017, respectively. In addition, GCC offers men’s baseball and basketball; women’s basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball and lacrosse; and there are co-ed teams in golf and swimming and diving.
GCC offers a comprehensive selection of 60 plus programs of study designed to fill a wide variety of career choices. The Fashion Business program offers concentrations in Design, E-Commerce, Event Planning and Merchandising Management. All academic programs offered by Genesee Community College including degrees and courses in Business and Commerce, Computers and Technology, Creative Arts, Health Care, Human Services, Law and Criminal Justice, Liberal Arts, Math and Science, Office Technology and Support, Sports and Physical Education and Teaching have been approved by the State University of New York and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Genesee Community College was founded in 1966 as part of the prestigious State University of New York and has since become one of the most highly-respected community colleges in the United States.
