A Life-Changing, All-Boys, Boarding School.

The Kiski School is one of America’s oldest all-boys boarding schools serving students in grades 9-12 as well as postgraduate students. Our 350-acre campus is located in the rural foothills of the Laurel Mountains, 30 miles east of Pittsburgh. Every Kiski Boy gains an appreciation of academic excellence, the importance of personal integrity, community responsibility, and develops a capacity to take risks and build self-confidence. Kiski is renowned for leadership in boys education, small classes, competitive athletics, an extraordinary faculty, outstanding fine arts, the Swank Student Center, and the newly renovated and expanded Ross Athletic Center.

The mission of The Kiski School is to prepare young men to succeed in college and in life.

Learning At Kiski Doesn’t Look Much Like A Lecture

Our expert faculty allows us to offer numerous courses in every department to satisfy the specific interests of our students. Boys with a penchant for science can delve into plate tectonics and electromagnetism. Those with historical leanings might choose to debate the new world order of the 21st century, or analyze the effects of tariffs on domestic unemployment, while the artistically inclined can express their creativity through paint, charcoal, wood, or other media.

Our departmental requirements ensure that all of our boys have the chance to discover a passion. This standardization also helps our students acquire content knowledge and develop intellectual habits that will benefit the boys here at Kiski, in higher education, and throughout their lives.

Our teachers are scholars in their respective fields. However, this does not immediately qualify them to instruct our students—they must also be experts in education; recognizing the different ways in which our boys learn, and adapting their instructional strategies accordingly. It is in this capacity, through years of graduate study and decades of experience, that our faculty has been successfully educating generations of boys.

Our faculty devotes an immeasurable amount of time and energy to the education of our boys. In addition to conducting classes, our teachers meet regularly with their fellow department members to discuss specific aspects of the curriculum and review developments within their disciplines. In the evenings, teachers cater to the needs of individual students during study hours and plan their lessons once the boys turn in for the night. When school is not in session, our teachers pursue professional development by continuing graduate work and postdoctoral research, focusing on independent study, and attending national education conferences.
