Minnesota State Mankato values the cultural contribution of international students to our campus and communities.  All new undergraduate students are automatically awarded an International Maverick Scholarship, which makes our tuition less than $10,000 per academic year.  Graduate students receive in-state tuition rates, making our Master’s programs incredibly affordable!

Minnesota State University, Mankato’s modern 303-acre campus overlooks the beautiful Minnesota River Valley and the busy streets of Mankato, a fast-growing and safe community of 53,000. The campus is just 85 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul – home to Mall of America. 

International students are integral and important to Minnesota State University, Mankato, which hosts a number of ethnic and cultural celebrations throughout the year. These events are shared with the residents of Mankato who for years have enjoyed a warm and welcoming relationship with international students. Through events such as the Friendship Family Program and the annual International Festival, Minnesota State Mankato’s international students soon feel part of a larger community.

  • PROGRAMS: More than 130 undergraduate majors and more than 85 graduate degree programs available, including five doctoral programs. 

  • ESL PATHWAY PROGRAM: Students in the Intensive English Program receive conditional admission as a pathway to regular admission with the opportunity to develop their English, academic, social, and intercultural communication skills in a variety of courses from beginning to advanced levels.

  • OUTCOME STATS: According to a survey of recent graduates, 93% of respondents are employed, 87% are working in a field related to their degree and 15% are enrolled in graduate school.
