Founded in 1907, the University of Redlands is an independent, coeducational, liberal arts and sciences and pre-professional university.  The University offers over 40 undergraduate programs. These include Global Business, International Relations, Engineering 3-2, Computer Science, Music, Biology,  Psychology, and Environmental Studies among other programs.  Students from all over the United States and around the world come to study at Redlands.  Why?  Because at Redlands, students live and learn in a true community of dedicated professors, small class sizes, and engaged students.

The University is located on 160 acres in the city of Redlands (population 70,000), just over one hour’s drive from Los Angeles as well as Southern California’s renowned coastal beaches and premier desert resorts. The city of Redlands offers students local restaurants, coffee shops, and a year round farmer’s market.

University of Redlands is a residential campus in which the majority of students live on campus all 4 years.  This enables students to enjoy a safe environment that fosters positive relationships with their fellow peers and students

The safe and spacious campus includes a unique blend of Greek, Spanish and modern California architecture, hundreds of palm trees and red tile roofs. 

Providing You With Support

With an undergraduate student body of more than 2,400, small class sizes and a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1, the University of Redlands is a place where students receive all the personal attention they could want. Redlands also offers a student organization called RISA – Redlands International Student Association.

The average class size is 18 to 22 and 90% of classes have fewer than 30 students.

The Office of International Students and Scholars provides a dedicated orientation and support for international students. 

Scholarships are available for international students and limited need based aid. 100% of admitted international students receive a scholarship to attend Redlands with the average scholarship award being $26,000 USD per year.

Recognized for having one of the highest study abroad participation rates among our peers, Redlands students travel the world, choosing from more than 100 international programs, including a signature program in Salzburg, Austria.  In fact, Redlands was the first American university with an international campus in Central Europe with our Salzburg campus. 

The University has produced 24 undergraduate Fulbright students in the past eleven years, making Redlands a top producer of Fulbright Scholars among similar institutions. 

The school’s Community Service Learning program also receives national acclaim as our students annually complete over 120,000 hours of public service around the world.
