Brown & Gold Scholarship Commitment for International First-year Freshman: $4,000 to $7,000 per year based on their incoming cumulative grade point average (GPA). The scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters or up to the first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.
The UW Transfer Award is awarded to incoming international transfer students who have a minimum of a 3.4 GPA and an associate’s degree. The annual amount of the award is $1000/year.
Graduate Assistantships are available in a number of fields, involving duties such as instructor, reader, laboratory assistant and other teaching responsibilities. Assistantships include tuition and fee reductions which vary as well as a monthly stipend.

As a student, you have many housing choices at the University of Wyoming! There are six residence halls on campus and four apartment complexes. Whether you are interested in sharing a room or apartment with someone you know or meeting someone new we know that you will make some of your best friends in on-campus housing. Residence Halls are a five-minute walk from the central campus and the apartments feature free bus service to campus.
International Students and Scholars support the University’s goal to internationalize. The Office partners with other offices, departments, and divisions at UW to nurture the growth of an international community and to assist in the development of a campus environment that is responsive to their needs.
International Students and Scholars provides a broad range of client-centered programs and services and is the primary resource for the international community at the University of Wyoming. The Office advocates on behalf of international students and scholars and provides programs that assist them in adjusting to a new university, community, country, and culture. Services include but are not limited to:
Immigration, personal and academic counseling
Support for international student organizations
Outings and activities for international students
Weekly International Coffee Hours
Collaboration with campus partners such as the Advising, Careers and Exploratory Studies (ACES) office.
The Intensive ESL Program is a full-time English language study program. Students have in class 20 hours every week for one whole semester of 15 weeks. All instructors have experienced ESL professionals and qualified with a Masters Degree or higher in TESOL or a relevant field of study.
